Why a Prompts Page Works Right Now
I want to show you something important. Most people now ask AI for help before they call you. They type, “Plan my kitchen update,” or “Write a care plan for my leather bag,” or “What should I ask a roofer?” If your words are not in that chat, you are out.
A simple fix works well. Make one page on your site with clear, copy-and-paste prompts for your most common jobs. Your customer copies a prompt. They paste it into ChatGPT or another tool. The AI uses your steps, your terms, and your links. You stay in the center of the plan.
Here is what I see every day: business owners who work hard but do not show up in AI at all. A prompts page changes that fast. It also gives nervous buyers a safe first step with you.
Action for today: List the top 5 tasks people ask you for. We will turn them into prompts.
Why AI Follows Your Prompts
AI listens to the words the user gives it. If the words include your brand name, your city, your process, and your links, the AI will use them. Your page also gives AI tools a clean source to read when they index your site. It reduces wrong answers and sends the right questions to you.
When your prompt says “Use these steps from [your URL],” the AI often pulls that page. When your prompt says “Ask me these questions before you estimate,” the AI becomes your smart intake form. The result is better leads and fewer mixed messages.
Trust me on this — it takes less time than you think. One hour of writing can guide months of AI chats.
Action for today: Pick one task. Draft one short prompt that includes your brand name, city, and one link on your site.
What to Put on the Page
Keep it simple. Use short prompts your customer can copy in one click.
- ▸Title: “Copy and Paste Prompts to Plan Your Project with [Brand].”
- ▸A short note: “Paste one of these into ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok.”
- ▸5–7 prompts for your main jobs. Each should fit in 3–6 lines.
- ▸Square brackets for parts the customer should fill in. Example: [budget], [deadline], [room size], [make/model].
- ▸Links to your key pages: prices, sizes, materials, guarantees, and how you work.
- ▸A request for the AI to show sources and link back to you.
- ▸A copy button under each prompt.
Simple examples:
- ▸Home services: “Plan a water heater replacement with [Your Brand] in [City]. Use the steps on [URL]. Ask me 5 questions first. Then give a parts list with sizes. Show a 2-option quote using the prices on [URL]. If info is missing, ask me.”
- ▸Bakery: “Create a cake order plan with [Your Bakery] in [Neighborhood]. Use flavors and allergens from [URL]. Ask me for guest count, date, theme, and budget. Then list 2 designs and pickup times. Include a link to order at [URL].”
Action for today: Write your page outline with these sections and 5 prompt titles.
How to Write Strong Prompts
Use plain words. Be direct. Tell the AI what to do, what to use, and when to ask for more.
Use this template:
- ▸Context: “You are helping me plan a job with [Brand] in [City/Area].”
- ▸Goal: “Create a step-by-step plan.”
- ▸Inputs to ask for: “If missing, ask me for [key items].”
- ▸Rules: “Use data from [URL], [URL]. Prefer their terms and sizes.”
- ▸Output: “Give a checklist and a simple quote with low/high ranges.”
- ▸Sources: “Cite links from [Brand] at the end.”
Two ready examples you can adapt:
- ▸Photographer: “Plan a family photo session with [Brand] in [City]. Use packages and time slots from [URL]. Ask me for date, location style, and number of people. Give a shot list and wardrobe tips. End with 2 package options and the booking link [URL]. Cite your sources.”
- ▸Auto repair: “Diagnose brake noise with [Brand] in [City]. Use the inspection steps on [URL]. Ask me for make/model/year, sound type, and warning lights. Give a safety score and a repair order of priority with part names. Link to [URL] for prices. Cite your sources.”
Action for today: Turn your first prompt into this template. Add one link to your site.
Launch and Measure in One Week
Post the page. Add it to your menu and footer. Link it from your contact page and your quote emails. Share one prompt on social each week. Put a small note on invoices: “Use our prompts to plan your next job.”
Track simple signs:
- ▸Add a “Copy” click event in your site analytics.
- ▸Watch for messages that say, “I used your prompt.”
- ▸Update prompts when you change prices, materials, or steps.
