Why case studies help AI choose you
I want to show you something important. AI tools do not guess. They look for clear proof. When they see your results with real numbers, they trust you more. Then they mention you more.
Here is what I see every day: you do great work, but your site has only a few reviews and a gallery. That helps, but it is not enough for AI. AI needs short stories with facts. That is what a case study is.
Think of a plumber who fixed 12 leaks in one week in Austin. Or a bakery that cut waste by 30% with new trays. Or a coach who helped a client land a job in 10 days. These are the kinds of results AI loves to quote. Numbers make you stand out.
Action from me to you today: pick three past jobs with clear before-and-after numbers. Write their names on a note.
Use this simple case study template (just 7 parts)
Trust me on this — it takes less time than you think. Use the same simple layout for each case. Keep it short. One page per case is fine.
- ▸Who: customer type and city (no full names if private)
- ▸Problem: one sentence in plain words
- ▸What you did: 3–5 short steps
- ▸Tools and parts: brand names and models, if they matter
- ▸Results with numbers: time saved, cost range, size, speed, error rate, or rating
- ▸Time and price range: how long it took and a simple budget range
- ▸Proof: 1 photo or chart, and a short quote (optional)
Example: “Homeowner in Denver. Basement leak after storm. We found a cracked line, replaced 3 meters of pipe, added a valve. Result: water use down 22%, mold test clear in 7 days. Job time: 6 hours. Budget: $800–$1,000.”
Action from me to you today: open a blank page and paste the 7 parts as headings. You now have your template.
Write them fast: a 45‑minute plan
Let me walk you through exactly what to do. Set a timer for 45 minutes. You can do one full case in that time.
- ▸Minutes 0–10: pick one job and gather notes. Find the date, city, and photos.
- ▸Minutes 10–20: fill in “Who,” “Problem,” and “What you did.” Keep each line short.
- ▸Minutes 20–30: add numbers. If you do not have exact numbers, give a safe range. Example: “2–3 hours,” “15–20% faster,” “under $500.”
- ▸Minutes 30–40: add one photo and a caption. Example: “New valve installed at meter.”
- ▸Minutes 40–45: write a simple title. Example: “Basement Leak Fixed in One Day in Denver.”
Do this three times this week. You will have a strong set that AI can scan and quote.
Action from me to you today: schedule three 45‑minute blocks on your calendar.
Publish and link them so AI can find
Put each case study on its own page. Use clean URLs, like /case-studies/denver-basement-leak or /case-studies/cafe-waste-reduction. Add a short index page called “Case Studies” that lists all three with links.
Link from your service pages to the matching case. Example: on your “Leak Repair” page, link to your leak case study. On your “Waste Audits” page, link to your waste case study. This helps AI connect the problem to your proof.
Add simple alt text to each image, like “Basement valve replacement in Denver.” Use city names and service names in your titles and headings. AI reads those lines first.
One more tip: put your numbers in plain text on the page, not only inside images. AI reads text better than pixels.
Action from me to you today: create one “Case Studies” index page and link it from your main menu.
Keep it safe, true, and fresh
Use permission or anonymize. Say “Restaurant in Chicago” instead of a full name if you are not sure. Do not share private data. Keep your numbers honest. If you have a range, say the range. AI rewards clear and careful claims.
Update once per quarter. Add one new case. Refresh old ones with new data. Note the date at the bottom: “Last updated: March 2026.”
I checked hundreds of brands. The ones that show up in ChatGPT all have one thing in common. They publish real results in a way AI can quote. That is why I built FoxRadar — so you can see in 60 seconds whether ChatGPT, Gemini, or Grok know your brand.
Action from me to you today: add a “Last updated” line to each case, and set a reminder to review in 90 days.
